I cannot believe that on Thursday I was 35 weeks, what??? It is just flying by and Sara and Derek will be here in 3 weeks. At my check up this week, I was very happy with the overall progress of my pregnancy. I left work a bit early to head over to the hospital, I carpool with my brother-in-law to work each day and he didn’t have a ride home so he decided to come with me to my appointment (at least just hang out while I was in my appointment). I of course got there just in the nick of time, I am always rushing to get out of work and make my appointments on time, it is just so busy.
At the appointment, I started off with the usual urine test, which is getting harder and harder to do. Not for lack of effort, but because I don’t have the same flexibility with my growing stomach. So I started off with the tiny cup they provide you and the dipping stick. Usually I am in an out quickly but this week it took me twice as long. If you are a woman, you know that peeing in a cup is hard anyway, but to have a belly, not be able to bend over and to have limited balance, it makes it nearly impossible. So I tried, I tried, and I tried to aim and make it in that cup, but damn if I was going to get any in there. Instead I managed to pee on my hand, then on the seat and everywhere but the cup. Finally, I got a pinch of pee in the cup and I called it good knowing I had enough to dip the stick into. Each week I am always nervous about the urine test, hoping that I pass. Now knowing I am 5 weeks away I think I will stop worrying so much because I know if this little man had to come out early he would be okay. After I cleaned up the bathroom, myself and the toilet I headed out for the weigh in, which is the dreaded part of the appointment. So I jumped on and off as quickly as I could and headed into my room for my check up. My blood pressure was 105/60 which is excellent. Once Dr. Horvath came in, we talked a bit about how things were going, she checked the heart beat, measured my belly and said things looked perfect. Then we checked to see if Baby A was finally head down. Drum roll please…yes he was finally head down, but in 2 weeks she would my first vaginal check to confirm. Overall she is very happy, beyond happy with how things are progressing and is looking forward to the delivery in a few weeks. I have been having some pain in my upper right stomach, near my ribs and she said that it is just the pressure of the baby, which I was worried it was my liver.
In addition, we wanted to head to St. George for the long weekend with our family and my sister-in-law, Bennett and Wesley since Joel was going to Napa for a music festival. Dr. Horvath gave me the green light for travel and sent me on my way. Warm weather, pool time, snuggles with the littles here I come!
