Living in Salt Lake City, Utah, you see a lot and I mean a lot of pregnant ladies. The adult to child ratio in Utah is high, not sure how it ranks across the U.S. but I would guess that we are in the top 10 cities with a high number of children in each family.
While I haven’t wanted a large family of my own, I always knew that I wanted to help another family achieve their dream of having a child, even when they couldn’t themselves. From early on, I talked about being a surrogate with friends and my then boyfriend, now husband. Not having children of my own yet, I suggested that I wanted to do this, but knew that I would have to first have my own to make sure that I enjoyed the overall experience, had healthy pregnancies and it was the right timing in our lives.
Billy and I have enjoyed a wonderful marriage filled with two kids, two dogs, two cats (no longer with us), we own a home, great jobs, the opportunity to travel and explore and we were both healthy. We also had a very supportive family, what more could we ask for?
At the end of 2014, my life was turned upside down and I was faced with the option of helping one couple achieve their dream of becoming parents while simultaneously meeting my dream of being a surrogate. I am a wife, mother of a teenage daughter, almost tween son, two fur babies Aggie and Luna and I work in Advertising and Marketing.
Join me on my adventure to becoming a surrogate and life beyond.
