An entire month has passed since I last posted something on this blog. I have been taking my Birth Control pills for the last few weeks trying to get this cyst to shrink so that we can move forward with implantation. Since Sara and I have not be able to sync up our cycle we have decided that Sara will move forward on her cycle and they will freeze the embryos.
We connected earlier this week and we were all set for them to come out Tuesday – Thursday of next week. She had a doctor’s appointment earlier that week and she has 30 eggs they could harvest during her procedure. Wowza that is a lot! Then it hit me, I was actually thinking about implanting two eggs instead of one. Was I crazy? I reached out to Sara and let her know and it is like we have this strange connection because she was thinking the same thing. No decisions have been made yet, but it something we are both contemplating. It just means a more complicated pregnancy right? Oh and don’t forget the extra skin flaps it may leave me with…but I am nearly 40 anyway, and it is time to retire the bikinis right?
I have been planning their arrival for next week thinking about all the things I need to get done. I have scheduled grooming for the dogs, carpet cleaning, grocery shopping and of course I will have welcome gifts for them when they arrive. They decided to stay with us because it is Outdoor Retailer next week and finding a hotel is nearly impossible, and if you do, you can expect to pay 3x what you normally would. We live less than 2 miles from the clinic so it makes perfect sense for them to stay with us, plus we really want to get to know them better. Sara reached out last night letting me know that her eggs need a few more days so they may push the trip back by a few days. This only give me more time to prep-yay!
This morning I got up early and packed a lunch, made breakfast for my Man and my little man who were heading to Scout Camp. I am not sure why I feel the need to get up early with them, but I enjoy making sure they have a healthy lunch (Billy would have packed chips and cookies only), and a hearty breakfast. Then I sat down to read a new book I picked up at the library. Does anyone else still go to the library? There is something about reading a physical book rather than an ePub. The book is called Eight Hundred Grapes by Laura Dave. It is set in the wine country of California. How ironic that I would grab this book right? I find myself drifting from the story and thinking about Sara and Derek and the beautiful setting they have in California among the vineyards. I am so happy they picked me, and I can’t wait for my 40th Birthday adventure in the wine country next year to celebrate.
