Last night we celebrated my friend Keri’s 40th birthday by surprising her first with a sushi dinner and then an after party back at my place with the guys. I was off early yesterday so I headed out to grab a few decorations, gifts and then home to get the house cleaned and decorated for the party.
Keri arrived and was so emotional to see all of her besties and a few cousins waiting to celebrate, she thought she was doing dinner with just her cousins, but we had her fooled. We showered her with gifts, laughed harder than we had in weeks, stuffed our bellies with food and then headed back to my place for an after party with our husbands.
One of the gifts that we gave Keri was an apron, not a cute or sexy apron but an inappropriate, too inappropriate for my blog, apron that is passed onto anyone who turns a big milestone year.
Once we arrive back at my house, Keri was pleased to see that her party didn’t have to end after dinner, there was still more celebrating in her honor. Keri is one of those friends that is your rock, she is there always, she has a laugh that will make you happy the minute you hear it, she is
funny, light hearted and fiercely protective of her family and friends. In high school she was always the friend who wanted to have a good time and I love her for that, absolutely love that about her. Over the years, her family has been more than generous to mine, they have a second home by a lake and have invited us up over the years to share in their fun. We have enjoyed boating, weddings, girls trips, crying, laughing, walks, bike rides, motorcycles/ATVs, kid productions, hot tubing, snow angles, broken glass and so much more throughout the years. With such a milestone birthday, I just had to find a way to spoil her, and thanks to her cousin Angie who organized it all, I think we pulled it off!
