I have the most amazing friends in my neighborhood and about once a month we get together for a ladies night filled with food, laughter and drinking. Last night was just as fun as any other night with my friends, only the conversation somehow landed on babies which then led to my desire to be a surrogate. Some were shocked by my desire to be a surrogate, others could never, ever, in no way shape or form have another baby, let alone for someone else. However, I know that when I announce the news to them, they will all be excited and support me through the process. It is interesting to hear women talk about pregnancy, the majority of women I talk to really hated being pregnant. It has been 9 years today that I gave birth to my last child, how time does fly. Have I forgotten how much I hate it? No, I don’t recall ever hating it while being pregnant so I must be one of the lucky few that enjoy it.
We just got back from celebrating my son’s 9th birthday with a Parkour gymnastic party. I have a wonderful friend who runs a gymnastic group and she was gracious enough to host us. I don’t think she knew exactly what she was getting herself into, especially because it was 13 sweaty little boys she had to entertain. There was running, jumping, flipping, tumbling, falling, sprains, bumps, bruises but most of all there was a smile on every child’s face for 2 solid hours. This was the first year that he wanted to do a party a location other than our house. Each year I suggest multiple options and each year he turns me down and opts for the party at our house. It was delightful to show up, have the boys entertained and then just leave. A mom could really get use to this, now I just hope he will go for it next year!
