It has been weeks since I have written, mainly because not a lot has been happening with the surrogacy. We are on hold until Sara starts her period. I can feel myself questioning the process and wondering why it is taking so long. I am sure I will look back on all of this eventually and think how fast it all happened, but waiting is unbearable! Another Mother’s Day has come and gone for Sara and I am sure it is heartbreaking but I am hoping that by next year she will have reason to celebrate this holiday.
Our family planned to go camping over this long weekend, we haven’t planned any trips because we aren’t sure of IVF dates yet and wanted to make sure we were readily available. We planned to go down to Escalante with my brother and sister in laws but as luck would have it, my son came down with Strep and he would be contagious on a few days of the trip. We bagged the camping and decided to stay home. I found a great deal on Groupon, and we headed to The Chateaux at Deer Valley for a night. We walked around the cute town of Park City, something that I don’t do often even though it is just 35 minutes away. We had dinner and drinks and then headed back to the hotel to site in the hot tub.
In the morning, my son joined me for a quick workout and then we headed to breakfast. This may have been the highlight of the trip. For some odd reason, my kids are obsessed with buffets. Maybe it is the fact that they can have whatever they want, no restrictions, no commitments, anything. Maybe it is the lure of people’s germs on the food? Whatever the case may be, they love a good buffet. In fact, Lauren told me that for her birthday, we could just give her a gift card to a buffet restaurant.
After our bellies were full, we headed to Park City Mountain Resort to ride the Alpine Coaster, Zip Line and Alpine Slide. With all the recent rain, activities were shut down and would be open until the rain and wind had died down. Rather than wait around, we decided to fill our time with shopping at the outlet stores.
While we were enjoying our night away, my mom sent this picture of Luna. This crazy dog loves rain, snow, wind and MUD! She is constantly dirty and tracking paw prints on the wood floor. I love this crazy little dog of mine, she reminds me constantly to live in the moment.
