Over the last few weeks, life has been a bit of a roller coaster. After receiving the news about our contract being approved by the courts, I started the process of getting my body ready for the IVF process. I was put on Birth Control for 10 days to sync up my cycle with Sara’s and then I went in for my first blood draw and ultrasound on day 1 of my cycle. During my ultrasound, the doctor found another pesky cyst and wanted to see If my blood draw showed signs of an active cyst. I was elated to receive the news later that day that everything looked great and I could start on Estradiol morning and night. After an additional blood draw a few days later, my body seemed to be responding well to the meds and I was on track for the final ultrasound and all clear to start the injectable of progesterone. Sara started her meds a few days ago as well, but today she received a call that her levels seemed high and needed to be checked again to see if she was progressing properly. Unfortunately, she received a call today that her Estrogen levels were extremely high and could cause her medical issues so we had to stop the cycle and wait until she levels off.
This news has totally bummed me out, but it is not as if it can’t happen again, we just have to approach it differently with her body so that her levels don’t spike again. Surprisingly, Sara seemed in good spirits when we chatted today but I know this is harder on her than it is on me. For me, it has been a long couple of weeks at work with new client pitch after pitch and long travel days, I was really looking forward to the next few weeks and the anticipation of being pregnant.
I have been working with my cousin on some logo designs for my blog, up until now, I have been typing and saving my work in anticipation of launching the blog with the announcement of being pregnant to the family. The first round of ideas look great, now the hard part is picking one and figuring out a color treatment. I keep telling myself that this just gives me more time to get thing in order for my blog, my body and training for my upcoming Ragnar event. As I sit here typing, the oddest weather is going on outside, it is the beginning of May and we are experiencing a crazy Hail storm, it even filled up our bird bath with pea size pieces of ice. Today has been a bit of a roller coaster, but we are staying optimistic and looking forward to the next cycle.
