Yesterday I entered my 38th week. Sara and Derek arrived Wednesday and it finally feels real, like real real. I met them at the doctor’s office for my weekly check up and couldn’t believe they finally made it here and they were going to meet their son in less than 2 week. Of course, I was still not able to gather a urine sample properly without getting a little in the cup and a lot everywhere else. The good news is that the sample I did gather showed no elevated protein in my urine. Next up was the weigh in, which at this point I have no real control over so I am just going with the flow and not worrying about the number. My blood pressure was 112/76 if memory serves which is excellent and even though I walked in with swollen legs, Dr. Horvath was very pleased with how things were going. At my last appointment, I was a a finger tip and 30% effaced, so I was anxious to see if I was making any additional progress. After a quick check I had progressed to a one but was still only 30% effaced, which is perfect since I don’t want this little guy to make an entrance until as close to 6/29 as possible. People keep asking me how I am feeling and the truth is, really good. The only thing I can complain about are my Miss Piggy legs, and my upper right rib being sore and my upper right back ache, otherwise I really don’t have much to complain about. So all in all if you look at the big picture, I would say things are going great. I think what makes things even better is knowing that Sara and Derek are here so that if anything were to happen early, they would be able to be part of the process and not have the stress of trying to get to Salt Lake City in time.
Since they arrived, we had dinner with them at Billy’s Sister and her husband’s house, and are so thankful that they graciously offered to let them stay with them for two days. It was a late night, but loved the time with both couples and some squeezes with my nephews. Today, Billy took them for a tour of Kindigit to see their amazing gallery of cars and hopefully let Derek (a major fan) meet Dave Kindig who is also in the show Bitchin’ Rides. I haven’t heard how the tour went yet, but I am sure they had a great time. Sara’s dad arrives today as well, and I am so excited to finally meet him, I was sad he missed the shower in Napa, but 1:1 time with just him will be even better. They will be staying at my BFF’s house for a week and dog sitting and then off to house sit for my Sister- in-law and soon to be brother-in-law as they go on an early honeymoon. The fact that family and friends have provided them with a place to stay is beyond words, I am so thankful for all the love and support they have shown. We have a lot planned over the next two weeks so I hope we can get it all in before this little man arrives.
