I purposely brought my computer home for a much needed snow day in my PJs, but when I woke up it was cold but no more than 1-2” had fallen. After talking myself into showering and getting ready for work I headed out the door, but not without my homemade tomato soup for lunch. I am not that domestic, but bottling my tomatoes is something I can do.
About 10 minutes into my 30 minute drive the whiteout hit and the freeway was a disaster. I was cursing and wondering why I showered and did my hair because I could be home in my warm house and comfy PJs with a cup of tea. We need the snow, we need it badly, but I was not in the mood to drive it in.
The other reason I was pushing myself to go in was because it is Girl Scout cookie time. My daughter sold cookies again this year at my office…I mean I sold cookies. Any mom of a Girl Scout knows that the majority of the work is on the shoulders of the parents. I had about 3 dozen extra boxes of cookies in my car that needed to find a new home and someone else’s thighs to cling to.
After an extra 30 minutes I made it into work only to find the majority of my fellow work mates were working from home in their comfy PJs sipping on their hot mug of tea. Argh! I made the best of the day and headed out early to beat the new storm hitting right at rush hour.
As I am sitting here typing, I am reminded of the fact that I have mounds and mounds of cookies sitting in my living room waiting for their new homes. Time to go deliver some cookies!
